I figured it out!

I figured out how to make Konrad sleep most of the night - make him very warm. I put on his winter clothes, his parka (it's summer now) when he goes to bed and put in a soother in his mouth (which eventually he spits out after he's asleep). This way, he can't move around too much, he's very warm and snuggly, and his hands are confined so that he can't pull out the soother from his mouth. With a blanket, he would always manage to kick it off and would end up uncovered. I thought of the "Parka" idea when I was trying to ignore his crying on a sleepless night sometime in the first month of his life. Ever since then, Konrad has slept very well, and consequently has been in a good mood throughout the days. (Oh, and never change a baby's diaper at night... it just wakes them up, leave it until the morning.)

It works so well! Try it yourself if you have trouble with your baby waking up every two hours at night.

Robert's 3rd Birthday

Recently we celebrated Robert's 3rd birthday. It was great. In the morning he had swimming class, which he loves. Then we went home to relax and play a bit. Then in the afternoon, we went to the Y for "jungle gym", and we invited his friends along (Esteban, Adrian, Amelka, Natalka and of course Jakub). This was so much fun. He couldn't contain his happiness and true affection towards everybody there. At the end, of that, Robert thanked all his friends for his presents (and I didn't even prompt him to do it, so it was very cute and real - I don't really know where he learned such great manners). Then we went to McDonald's to pick up Robert his favorite food: Chicken McNuggets. (I'm not sure if that's his favorite food or his favorite word to say, but he uses it a lot.) We picked up Alex from the train, went home to eat the nuggets and open presents. And then of course there was the cake (Mickey Mouse themed this year). We played with the presents so long. It was really really awesome. One of the best birthdays ever. Robert really appreciated everything. I love that little trouble maker. He's awesome! He's so sincere about everything. He's real! He's my boy!

Robert and Konrad always together.

Robert always like to do what Konrad does. If he's in the crib, he'll climb in to be with him. If I'm giving Konrad a bath, he'll quickly take off his clothes and jump in. And of course, when I lay Konrad in the living room, soon his brother Robert will match his brother in every move and pretends he's the baby. Of course, Konrad loves all the attention, so it's all good.

Konrad the Angel

Konrad is seriously such a great baby. Thanks to him, I can handle my three boys (or should I call them little monsters). He lets me do what I need to do with Robert and Jakub, but then also gives me extra energy with his twinkling eyes and always smiling face. I love him so much, I can't even express it in words.

And of course, he is advance beyond his age (3 1/2 months)... hahahahaha. Here he is in a swing, and his first attempts at sitting. Today, I also felt a couple bottom teeth coming out.

Robert in Art Class

For the last few months Robert has gone to an art class / music class combination. He absolutely loved it! For the first thirty minutes they would paint, do projects, do collages etc. Then in the second half, they sang, danced, played instruments. Initially Robert didn't want to do anything, but after only one class, he loved it so much. If fact he talks about it all the time now, and he wants to play the games he learned there. He is also very proud of his artwork and wants to show everybody and display it all around the house. What a great way to spend Thursday mornings.

Here is his favorite game / song:

Jakub the Swimmer (and diver)!

Jakub recently finished his swimming course with his school. It was great, and he got put in with the "expert" swimmers. There was only three people in that class, two girls and Jakub. The teacher was really good and pushed the kids to their limits. Jakub loved him and loved the class. On the last day, instead of getting the kids to go down the slide and play in the boat (like the kids in the beginning classes did), the swimming instructor suggested to his three kids whether they wanted to go jump off the diving board. Man, were the kids really excited (including Kubus). Before, Alex suggested to Kubus on many occasions to go jump off the diving board, which Jakub promptly rejected. But this time, when there were other kids, and it was a teacher asking to jump, he JUMPED. I was amazed! Later the teacher asked them if they wanted to jump off the big tower... and they did. Imagine 5 year olds on the big jumping tower. He was so scared, but he did it! I was so proud. Jakub has really come out of his shell recently, and he has so much courage... more than I ever had (I never jumped off the tower to this day).

Real Progress

In the last few weeks, Konrad has had some real progress. At two months, he started to roll over when placed on his belly. He laughs and follows me with his eyes when I move about the room. He can sit on his own (for a few seconds for now). He loves his jolly jumper and can be on it for half an hour to an hour without complaining. And the most important of course: HE SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!!! (9:30pm - 6:30am). He is a genius baby :)

Konrad - Such a CUTIE!!!!!

Here is some fun photos of Konrad in his second month. He has become such a cute baby.

Small, Medium, and Large

For all of you out there that think that I have three clones of each other in three different sizes: SMALL, MEDIUM, and LARGE...

Standing Already

When changing his diaper today, I decided to try Konrad's powerful legs. He's already been bouncing off my lap many times, and he seemed to be in a particularly good mood today. Here he is... only three weeks old!
